Welcome to Radio Scooter International Station History

Station History

On a whim, in July 2005 I decided to finally do something with the many years of broadcast training I have; to start an internet radio station, Radio Scooter International. Yet, try as I might, I had few if any listeners; but thanks to Geoff Rowlands of Great Britain, convincing me to stay the course, the station is still alive. Bouncing from night to night to find an evening to broadcast on I decided on Friday; thus the "Friday Night Party" was born.
In May 2006, it was time for the first major change at the station- the addition of a Saturday night broadcast; AubreyRose of Florida each week brought to her many listeners, "Classic Country". And people loved it! However, in August 2006, AubreyRose informed me she would need to leave us for a while; I am unsure when she will return, but, I sure miss her around here. There is an old saying- "when one door closes, another opens". This must be true. Niteman Pat of North Dakota joined forces with me; on September 14, 2006 Niteman Pat brought his excellent "Rockin' Country" broadcast to the world. And the ratings for September were great. The station became a force to be reckoned with. But there was still one puzzle piece missing..
In late October, 2006, while speaking to my friend Julie in Great Britain she told me of someone she knew who had been a DJ; and that he may be good for us. Julie put me in touch with Frankie, aka, "UK Frankie"; he and I spoke and in about the first 10 minutes, I knew he was the piece of the puzzle we were in need of; on November 17 @ 4PM EST, UK Frankies "Music Time Capsule" became another eye opener for listeners 2 days a week. In fact Julie relays Franks show into her Paltalk room thus increasing the listenership. Thank you Julie!
I would be making a huge error if I did not now thank Bob Zanotti of Switzerland for his services to us in voice work on station identifications and other things. To you, the listener; thank you for sticking by us thru the rough times and for helping make this station the sucess it has become. To those new listeners, thank you for climbing aboard with us. We hope you enjoy what you hear from us.
In December 2006 with the launch of the 18 hour Christmas music broadcasts, the 24 hour Christmas day broadcast; the fun we all had doing the Santa Flight Tracking helped add up to one thing- even bigger and better things to come in 2007.
Lastly, to my colleagues here at the station, what can I say but "THANK YOU" to each one of you for your dedication to making this little piece of internet radio a place where my first mission statement still rings loud and very true- "Radio is still fun here!"

With Many Many Thanks,

Bill
